Iskra Zaščite at Light & Building 2012

From 15th to 20th April 2012 Iskra Zaščite participated in the international exhibition Light & Building in Frankfurt. The showroom was in Hall 8, where we belonged by our field of activity and where all of our competition was exhibiting.  Our stand was designed on the principle of open walking routes and on the principle of applicative placements – our products. We were presenting new products, such as Safetec Class 1, electronics (ProSEC III, ProLEC, ProALARM, ProSLS), new data protection (including Ex protection) and medium-voltage arresters for rail … Continue Reading

Surge arresters in configuration with non-transformer type of inverter

Typical architecture of a photovoltaic system and NN network

Originally, in the designs of photovoltaic generators, inverters of transformer type were used exclusively, which actually means that the DC and AC sides were galvanically isolated. Recently, inverters based on semiconductor technology, also known as IGBT technology, are becoming increasingly popular. The main difference between these two types of inverters is the lower cost and improved efficiency (up to 98%) in favour of the IGBT technology.

Data centre surge protection

When we hear the term “surge”, we immediately think of lightning strikes. This is certainly the most spectacular case of voltage spikes, but it is not the most common one, as well as not the most harmful one. Strikes in the vicinity of an object (the influence of indirect strikes is sensed on installations up to 1.5 km away from the point of a lightning strike) and the influence of the electrical grid (inductions. the switching control of bigger loads, temporary overvoltages) can be often more harmful. These kinds of voltage spikes are manifested in several ways, among which the … Continue Reading
